This is the kind of Eteraz I can support. Eteraz is Farsi for Protest.

Very nice, indeed. I looked him up and found a website for him: http://www.nuri-art.com/ if you want to see more of his great work.

Ali, you’ve really done it this time. Finding such pictures.

Oh, by the way, Ali has said that he will be engaging in more third person commentary on his blog.

Hey, stop writing that stuff. It’s not been approved.

    No.

    Fine.

eteraz/ali, you sound like you need a vacation.

  7. dymphna said, on February 16th, 2006 at 9:38 pm

Hmmm…talk to SigCarl about the symptomatology of referring to oneself in the third person. You *could* do the first person plural and pretend you’re royalty, though. That would be cool.

Remember King Ethelred The Unready in early English history? How about King Eteraz The Protestor? Defender?

Come see my great insulting art work from Spain: an icon of “The Sacred Heart” (one of the Jesus variables) holding a Phoenix missile. I’m sure the *artiste* meant to be insulting to Christians, Spanish atheist that he is, but I find it way cool. It makes me smile.

It must be that in order to offend someone, they have to be willing to feel diminished. This piece is wonderful so it fails on its own terms. But not on mine.

And I thought you were on vacation???

This is very powerful and what a huge impact it would have if we all protested like this. Thank you Ali, and thank you Leena for the link to the artists web site, his work is so beautiful.
And now it’s about time Eteraz went on holiday, oops sorry, you call it vacation where you are, don’t you?

It’s a protest of the protestors. Fitting.

It would seem that Eteraz is actually Arabic for اعتراض
The ض is typically pronounced za’ rather than Dhad

I think different people react differently. Not every one is talented enough to paint, write or speak eloquently. Some just want to shout, throw stones or hurl a molotov cocktail against the cold dirty wall of a Danish embassy.

If most Muslims were as educated and enlightened as you are Ali the Ummah would not be where it is today.

The cartoons were intended to offend. The danish journalist who first ran the cartoons had previously sought the help of a certain Daniel Pipes ( self-proclaimed expert on Islam) to as he put it gain a better understanding of Muslims and what made them tick.

This in my humble opinion tells it all.

I personally have not seen nor intend to see the cartoons. Not because i think they bear any resemblance to Him (Sallallahu 3alyhi wa Sallam) but because if i did i would have proved that human voyeurism is stronger than any other impulse.

Why the Muslims are spreaded though out all of Europe at first place? Why don’t they stay and live in their 57 world wide states and minimize the clashes of races?

  21. Danial said, on March 31st, 2008 at 2:09 am

Abe Bird, maybe if European countries weren’t so desperate for post-war labor, Muslims wouldn’t be so numerous in Western European states.

Ever stop to think about that? Retard.

Superb! I really adore this kind of protest. But, i also fully understand why my fellow Indonesians yesterday hit the street to protest against Wilders film. Not everyone as poetic and artistic as Hossein Nouri, isn’t it?

  25. Abe Bird said, on April 5th, 2008 at 11:43 am

Danial, you are repeating the known version of the phenomena (retard is quite un-necessary to support your ‘vision’. I was quite sarcastic). Why the Europeans except the cheap labor while the third world can’t stand on his feet economically and politically with the remain labor power? Europe sucks the best power of the poorest societies in the world and helps keeping it at their disastrous situation while still living with out facing the clashes sure to come.
